COVID-19 Update

March 23, 2020, the Governor of Virginia issued a "Stay at Home" order effective for all  non-essential businesses. Powell Orthotics and Prosthetics is considered an essential business under this order.  Therefore, we are continuing to operate and support our patients needs. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions.   We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and follow guidance from public health officials and government agencies, so we can continue to support our customers and communities as needed.


Ensuring the safety of our patients is our utmost priority.  We will be open by appointment only during this COVID-19 crisis.  We are taking measures to create a safe environment for all our clients in need of prosthetic and orthotic care.

What to expect:

  • Patients will be placed in fitting rooms upon arrival to limit common space exposure 
  • All rooms disinfected in morning prior to opening
  • All rooms disinfected after every patient’s encounter 
  • All practitioners are instructed to wash and disinfect hands before and after every patient encounter 
  • All patients will be screened for possible risk via phone prior to scheduling in office visit
  • Curbside pick up available for repair items patients can wait in car if needed, phone call notification when items are ready
  • Delivery supplies will be mailed out to patients limiting office visits
  • Replacement items can be evaluated via phone call/ pictures or Facetime
